About Muses

This podcast honours the stories of rock ‘n roll’s legendary muses, musicians, rock wives and groupies. Through their extensive catalog of episodes, Chanty and Lynx interview the grooviest women in rock and roll. They also take turns presenting autobiographies and biographies they’ve read about the most fascinating women in music.

The Chantels are considered by many to be the best of the original girl groups. In a time when girls couldn’t just hang out and rehearse, these women fought for their own path to make music.

The GTOs were an all-girl group from the Los Angeles area, specifically the Sunset Strip scene. They were only active for two and a half years, and produced one album with Frank Zappa.

4 Non-Blondes were at the forefront of 90’s grunge-rock and were one of the first openly out LGBTQ music groups to get national radio play. Despite their short career, they paved the way for women and queer folx in music today.

t.A.T.u made history for their video featuring the two band members in schoolgirl uniforms kissing. But, the story behind that may be a little darker than you think.
