Meet the Artist: Nicole Johnson (The Paradox Twin)

Meet your new favorite prog rock lead vocalist: Nicole Johnson of The Paradox Twin, joining us all the way from London! We talk about the band’s formation, how they made an album in lockdown and more!

About The Paradox Twin

The Paradox Twin was formed by singer, songwriter, guitarist & keyboard player, Danny Sorrell who, following the writing of the band’s debut album ‘The Importance of Mr. Bedlam’, went along to Outhouse Studio, the well known recording studio run by producer & musician extraordinaire John Mitchell. John was so impressed with what he heard that he suggested to Chris Hillman, John’s partner in the White Star Records label, that they should release the album. Chris was as impressed as John was and so the band were signed to the label.
The album was very well received with the video of the first single from the album, ‘Planeta’, gaining a nomination at the prestigious Progressive Music Awards even before the album had been released. The band went on to receive another nomination the following year in the best new artist’s category. The album has gained the band a worldwide reputation and following with glowing reviews and radio plays.

Due to the positive reactions to the album, Danny decided to strengthen the line up of the band as requests for live appearances were coming in. The band played a handful of shows & festivals in the UK & Europe with the current line up of Danny plus Nicole Johnson (Vocals), Leland Freeman (Guitar), Diane Fox (Bass) & Graham Brown (Drums) going down a storm. More live shows beckoned but then Covid hit so Danny set to work on writing the band’s second album.
